Responsible Gaming
Gaming should be entertainment, not income and not an escape. These tools and resources help keep it that way.

Our responsible gaming principles
- 21+ only. Gambling is restricted to adults aged 21 and over in the Philippines.
- Entertainment money only. Never use money meant for rent, bills, food, tuition or padala.
- Set limits before you play, not after a loss. Our budget guide has a ready-made template.
- Never chase losses. Each round is independent, so a "due" win doesn't exist.
- Take breaks. Use a phone timer and stop when it rings.
Warning signs to watch for
| Sign | What it can look like |
|---|---|
| Chasing | Depositing again right after a loss to "bawi" |
| Borrowing | Utang from friends, 5-6 lenders, loan apps or credit cards to play |
| Hiding | Lying to family about time or money spent |
| Preoccupation | Thinking about playing at work, school or during family time |
| Escape | Playing to cope with stress, sadness or boredom |
If two or more sound familiar, it's time to pause and talk to someone.
Tools that help
- Deposit limits. Many platforms, including 218PLUSPH-style sites, let you cap deposits daily, weekly or monthly. Check account settings or ask support.
- Cool-off periods. Short breaks of 24 hours to several weeks.
- Self-exclusion. Longer blocks of six months or more. PAGCOR also runs a national self-exclusion programme.
- E-wallet controls. Lower your GCash or Maya transaction limits. See our payments guide.
- Bonus discipline. Skip promos that push you to deposit more. Read our bonus explainer.
Free, confidential help
Talking to family or a trusted friend also helps. Gaming problems are common, and asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
Protecting minors
Keep devices locked, don't share accounts, and log out after playing. Our mobile guide covers phone security settings.

Where can I get help in the Philippines?
Call the National Center for Mental Health crisis hotline at 1553 (free, 24/7). Gamblers Anonymous also offers peer-support meetings, including online.
What is self-exclusion?
A tool that blocks you from an operator for a set period. Ask the operator's support how to activate it. In the Philippines, PAGCOR also runs a self-exclusion programme.
Is it okay to borrow money to keep playing?
No. Borrowing to gamble, whether through utang, 5-6 lenders, credit cards or online loan apps, is a major warning sign. Stop and seek support.
